What they said vol #3

When discussing the new house;
Liam: Can we bring snacks to the new house cause I might get hungry
Once reassured that we would bring food to the new house he then asked about a stove cause sometimes warm food is better.

Dr Daddy: What did you do at school?
Liam: Practiced songs for the concert.
Dr Daddy: Do I have to sing?
Liam: No you're the audience!

After watching Mary Poppins earlier that day:
Lisbeth: Supercalfragilistic~everyones a toaster!!

Linking up with Rosie ~ please head over and enjoy more kid-speak

Easter Recap

Happy Easter!!

Hope your Easter Sunday was lovely

Ours was:

starting with baskets filled with a bit of candy, a toy and an book for all the littles,
then off to Mass with Mommy for these two (Daddy was singing at a later Mass).

Attempts at pictures while still looking lovely in our Sunday best
 with Mommy remembering to actually get in some of the pictures;

and then the hunt was on throughout the backyard.

Finally later in the evening we again hosted members of the Triduum choir (past and present) Dr Daddy sings with for dinner.

There are unfortunately few photos as I was throughly enjoying the wonderful food and fellowship of these wonderful multi-talented singers and cooks.

A Very Blessed Day Indeed.
Allelluia!!

Quick Takes #153 ~ Caitlin at 15 months

And in another installment of blog as baby book:

  1. Cruising is your big new accomplishment and one you are interested in trying out as often as possible.  Your big sister's stroller has been put back into service and is your favorite 'aide' but really anything will do.  Now the question is when will you let go and try walking in 'hands-free' mode??
  2. Sleeping continues to be good. A couple colds and 3 new teeth had you again feeding once in the night but you've of late returned to sleeping thru the night.  Still nursing most of the way to sleep but able settle yourself back down once I move you to the crib to nap or for the night.
  3. Your current vocabulary is small but consistent; Mama, Dad(Dat), hi, bye, nose, eyes, shoes, juice (anything in a cup), teeth.  You've started shaking your head 'No' and have quite the high pitched shriek when unhappy.
  4. You continue to be a good eater happy to try most things and with 11 teeth now we are offering you more and more.  I really can't think of anything you won't try a bite or two.  Favorites include yogurt, noodles, cheese and ice cream.  You are starting to show interest in using a spoon yourself.
  5. You still love music and are likely sway and bounce anytime you hear some.  Stacking blocks and big Duplos will hold your interest as will your 'treasure chest'; now that you are more mobile you are wanting more and more to join in whenever your big brother and sister are playing.
  6. Current cuteness ~ during evening prayers you actually try and make the sign of the cross; specifically the 'holy spirit' gesture: years earlier than either of your siblings.  You also like to blow kisses and try and tickle us.
  7. Thank you for continuing to be a lovely laid-back, nap on the run, gracious multi sibling hug recipient, happy to here person.
Please head over to Conversion Diary for more Quick 7 Takes!

Liebster Award 2014

Laura of String of Pearls has graciously nominated me for a Liebster Award!!

The Liebster Award is for bloggers with less than 200 followers.  Liebster is a German word meaning dearest. The award is given to up-and-coming bloggers who deserve recognition and support to keep on blogging.

Here are the "rules":
1. Answer the 11 questions given to you
2. Create 11 new questions for the bloggers you nominate for the award.
3. Choose 5* bloggers with 200 or less followers to nominate.
(I'm abbreviating a bit to try and avoid tag-backs)
4. Go to each blogger's page and let them know about the award.
5. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog!

Laura's Questions:
1. Do you have a favorite saint with whom you feel a special kinship? (Who is it, and why?)
Saint Therese du Liseaux for a long time, Saint Elisabeth of Hungary and Saint Elizabeth Anne    Seton since becoming a mom.

2. Do you have a "bucket list"?  (And if so, what's the first item on the list?)
I don't as of yet have an official written down bucket list but a short one in my head which include things like 1) parasailing 2) visiting Mont St Michel 3) climbing Mt Chocorua

3. Where is your favorite place to swim: a heated pool, a freshwater lake, or the ocean?
Pool, though the ocean is a close second

4. What are three words that describe you?  (Sorry--I hate it when people ask me questions like that.)
        Warm, Caring, Kind

5. Are you fluent in a second language?
I wish ~ my understanding of French both written and spoken is decent but my ability to speak is not fluent and my writing is awful.

6. Do you like to travel, or are you more of a homebody?
Love to travel and see new places ~ and then go home.

7. What's your all-time favorite book (if you can name just one; if not, how about your three favorites)?
Even three is tough, but today's favorites: 1) Persuasion 2) Cloister Walk  3)  Anne of Green Gables (the whole series if that is not too much of a cheat).

8. Do you love to cook (or would you rather eat out and have someone else do it)?
I love to eat my husbands cooking and as I work through my insecurities about my ability ~ am learning to enjoy it myself.

9. If you could only have one dessert for the rest of your life (a horrible prospect, I know!), what would you choose?
Ice Cream ~ definitely, Coffee ~ probably

10. Is there a particular work of Catholic art that is your favorite?  (Share the image with us, if you can.)
No one piece of art comes to mind but I think stained glass is an amazing genre celebrated in the Catholic tradition.

11. What inspired you to begin your blog?
Setting something down of my experience as part scrapbook/journal ~ and join the blogging community because as I settled into my role as a mostly SAHM I was feeling a bit cut-off from the world.

My questions:
  1. Favorite breakfast?
  2. First presidential election you remember?
  3. Home decorating style? favoring which time period?
  4. Favorite ice cream flavor?
  5. And what is going on top? (Fave toppings?)
  6. What country/culture fascinates you most?
  7. Planner or spur of the moment personality?
  8. Favorite board game?
  9. White, milk or dark chocolate?
  10. Favorite Easter basket candy?
  11. You are hosting a 3 movie marathon: what is the theme or featured artist?

5 minute friday: Writer

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Writer

Start

It has always been a secret wish of mine to be a writer.  Out loud to anyone who asked I wanted to be a nurse and later a midwife, and that was true.  It was also true that a quiet secret part of me wanted to be a writer like some of my favorite characters Anne, Laura and even John-Boy.  So I wrote short stories, and extra reports for school and have kept a journal forever.
Then in college a couple of teachers told me I was a terrible writer and so I stopped; except for my journals because those were prayers to the God who made me and already knew my heart.  Then many years later I became a mother and that helped me be brave and start this blog and let my writing be read again because I just might have a story to tell.

Stop
Please head over to Lisa Jo's and enjoy more 5 minute Friday

Five Favorites; April 2nd

1. Signs of Spring

2. Dried Pineapple: for whatever reason my mouth does not like fresh pineapple and so unless I want to enjoy a burning sensation for hours I have to limit myself to just a piece or two at a time but canned does not bother me ~ so when I saw dried for sale at a favorite little food shop of ours I decided to give it a try. Most Excellent Decision!!

3. Signs of Spring in my yard:

4. The look on her face when she realized that with the help of her trusty stroller she could stand tall and head out to explore on her own.

5. Signs of Spring in my yard in likely my last Spring in this house. One last chance to enjoy the flowers of the bulbs planted by me and those who lived here before me.

Now please head over to Moxie Wife for more of this week's Five Favorites
