I've not really been loving the background template I switch to when Lent ended so this weekend I went exploring in the blogger vault ~ and found this. While brown usually does not fall high on my color preferences I thought that the picture was a great morning image to compliment the blog title.
What do you think?

Small Successes: May 19th

1. Cut the grass
2. Managed back to back long road trips to VA and MA to celebrate with family as a niece and nephew received their First Communion
3. Pulled together mini-family party for husband's birthday
Bonus: Got older myself!
Thankful this Thursday:
Safe travels
Little ones who managed long car seat time with minimal fuss
Hard working husband
Watching the next generation come to the table of the Lord
Birthday wishes from across the country
Grace renewed and love everlasting

A Pause for Poetry
This Is My Letter To The World
Emily Dickinson
This is my letter to the world,
That never wrote to me,--
The simple news that Nature told,
With tender majesty.
Her message is committed
To hands I cannot see;
For love of her, sweet countrymen,
Judge tenderly of me!

Quick Takes Vol, #80

1. Liam is eight months today ~ babbling more & more and Daddy wins again ~ the first consonant is D, hearing lots of Dadada
2. Very nearly clapping and definitely becoming more interactive
3. Still breast-feeding well and despite having three new teeth, the biting situation is not too bad ~ so have now managed to provide 'Momma Milk' for my little who drinks from the faucet as long as I did for the one who insisted that I pumped it and put into a bottle for her
.
4.First Communion for my niece last week ~ perfect gospel reading of the story of the road to Emmaus (Luke 24: 13-35) ~ may she, our nephew making his this weekend and all of us always "know him in the breaking of the bread"
5. Elisabeth is now done with school ~ looking at summer day camp options ~ but also wondering if I should try and do worksheets with her.
6.Couple favorite post I read this week; Sarah on style, Elizabeth on parenting
7. Another busy road trip weekend ~ prayers welcomed

Why I Love My Husband, vol 3

- His smile, especially when he is watching or playing with his kids
- The way he encourages me to try new things
- His commitment to caring for others
- His laughter
My thanks again to Kaitlin of More like Mary for inspiring this meme
