Theme Thursday: Sky

Linking up with Cari of Clan Donaldson for Theme Thursday: Sky

One of our growing traditions during our vacations in Maine is kite flying.  We usually go near sunset as the parking is free and the crowds have thinned ~ allowing for some interesting cloudscapes along the shore.

  2. Mary Poppins song running through my head! :) The last one is my favorite, but they are all lovely. Family memories AND stunning scenery. Win-win.

  3. Ha ha now *I* have Mary Poppins in my head. Thanks, Micaela! Here in Memphis we have Shelby Farms, which has its own dedicated kite flying area. We were attempting to get our kites up when out of nowhere a man came parasailing in! It was quite the way to get randomly introduced to the head of our umbrella school.

    1. Isn't it? So much fun to have ocean winds whip that sucker way up in the sky. Love it.

  6. Great shots, my group shots of kite flying are always just off. And we have that first kite shown. Absolute best accessory of childhood around here.

  7. How fun! I've always been terrible at kite flying, but I'd love to try again one of these days :)

  8. Beautiful pictures!! We used to go to the beach in Maine all the time--York Beach. The waves seemed to be bigger there than they were at the NH beaches, and our boys loved it. But we should have brought kites along with our boogie-boards!
